Stranger Things Season 5: Everything You Need to Know + 10 Greek Words You Didn’t Know Were Connected to the Series

Η νέα και η τελευταία σεζόν του Stranger Things μόλις κυκλοφόρησε σήμερα, και μπορώ να πω ότι είμαι πραγματικά ενθουσιασμένος. Από την πρώτη μέρα της πρεμιέρας της, το 2016, λάτρεψα τη σειρά: το ύφος της, την πλοκή της, και κυρίως τον μοναδικό συνδυασμό των ’80s vibes με το sci-fi και το μυστήριο.

Γι' αυτόν τον λόγο, πριν δούμε τις δέκα πιο βασικές ελληνικές λέξεις που εμπνέονται από το Stranger Things, ας θυμηθούμε λίγο τι έχει συμβεί μέχρι τώρα. Από την πρώτη κιόλας σεζόν μέχρι τη σημερινή μεγάλη επιστροφή. Ας κάνουμε λοιπόν μια γρήγορη αναδρομή πριν περάσουμε στο λεξιλόγιο.

Σεζόν 1

Η πρώτη σεζόν μάς σύστησε το μικρό, ήσυχο χωριό του Hawkins στις ΗΠΑ το 1983, όταν ο 12χρονος Will Byers εξαφανίζεται μυστηριωδώς. Ταυτόχρονα, μια μυστηριώδης κοπέλα με υπερφυσικές ικανότητες, η Eleven, εμφανίζεται, και μαζί με τους φίλους του Will — τον Mike Wheeler, τον Dustin Henderson και τον Lucas Sinclair — αρχίζουν να ανακαλύπτουν πως το εργαστήριο του Hawkins κρύβει πειράματα και μια “κάτω” διάσταση που λέγεται The Upside Down.

 

Σεζόν 2

Στη δεύτερη σεζόν, περίπου έναν χρόνο μετά την πρώτη, ο Will επιστρέφει — όμως δεν είναι πια ο ίδιος. Ξεκινά να έχει οράματα από το Upside Down, ενώ οι φίλοι του και οι ενήλικες συνειδητοποιούν πως η απειλή δεν είχε φύγει· αντίθετα, μεγαλώνει. Εμφανίζονται νέοι χαρακτήρες όπως η Max Mayfield και ο Billy Hargrove, ενώ η Eleven ξεκινάει να ψάχνει τη δική της ταυτότητα και το παρελθόν της.

 

Σεζόν 3

Η τρίτη σεζόν μας μεταφέρει στο καλοκαίρι του 1985. Το Starcourt Mall γίνεται το καινούριο κέντρο της πόλης, όμως πίσω από τα φώτα και τη μουσική κάτι σκοτεινό αρχίζει πάλι να ξυπνά. Ο Mind Flayer βρίσκει νέους τρόπους να επιστρέψει, και η ομάδα —μεγαλώνοντας σιγά σιγά— πρέπει να ξαναενωθεί για να αντιμετωπίσει έναν εχθρό που δεν μοιάζει με κανέναν μέχρι τότε.

 

Σεζόν 4

Στην τέταρτη σεζόν, ο τόνος αλλάζει εντελώς. Η ιστορία σκοτεινιάζει, οι ήρωες βρίσκονται χωρισμένοι σε διαφορετικά μέρη, και στο Hawkins εμφανίζεται ο Vecna, μια υπερφυσική μορφή που τρομοκρατεί την πόλη. Για πρώτη φορά γίνεται ξεκάθαρο ότι όλα όσα έζησαν από την πρώτη σεζόν ήταν κομμάτια του ίδιου, πολύ μεγαλύτερου παζλ.

 

Σεζόν 5

Και τώρα, με την κυκλοφορία της τελευταίας σεζόν, το μεγάλο ερώτημα μένει ανοιχτό:
Τι θα συμβεί στο τέλος; Θα καταφέρει η ομάδα να σταματήσει οριστικά τον Κάτω Κόσμο και τον Vecna, ή όλα οδηγούν σε μια τελική σύγκρουση που κανείς δεν μπορεί να προβλέψει;

The new season of Stranger Things has just been released today, and I can honestly say I’m really excited. From the very first day it premiered in 2016, I loved the series — its style, its plot, and especially the unique combination of ’80s vibes with sci-fi and mystery.

That’s why, before we look at the ten most important Greek words inspired by Stranger Things, let’s take a moment to remember what has happened so far. From the very first season to today’s big return, Hawkins has gone through events that changed everything. So let’s take a quick look back before we move on to the vocabulary.

 

Season 1

The first season introduced us to the small, quiet town of Hawkins in the U.S. in 1983, when 12-year-old Will Byers mysteriously disappears. At the same time, a mysterious girl with supernatural abilities, Eleven, appears, and together with Will’s friends — Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair — they start discovering that the Hawkins Lab is hiding experiments and a “lower” dimension called the Upside Down.

 

Season 2

In the second season, about a year after the first, Will returns — but he is no longer the same. He begins to have visions of the Upside Down, while his friends and the adults around him realize that the threat never left; on the contrary, it is growing. New characters appear, such as Max Mayfield and Billy Hargrove, while Eleven starts searching for her own identity and her past.

 

Season 3

The third season takes us to the summer of 1985. The new Starcourt Mall becomes the center of the town, but behind the bright lights and the music, something dark begins to awaken again. The Mind Flayer finds new ways to return, and the group — slowly growing up — must reunite to face an enemy unlike anything they’ve seen before.

 

Season 4

In the fourth season, the tone changes completely. The story becomes darker, the heroes are separated in different places, and in Hawkins, Vecna appears — a supernatural figure who terrorizes the town. For the first time, it becomes clear that everything they have experienced since the very beginning was part of the same, much bigger puzzle.

 

Season 5

And now, with the release of the final season, the big question remains open:
What will happen in the end?
Will the group manage to stop the Upside Down and Vecna once and for all, or is everything leading to one last battle that no one can predict?
